Pizza Only a Phone Call Away

Welcome sign (Image 1)
After walking .8 miles we arrived at the best pizza place in town, Tri Pi Pizzeria. It felt as if the hot sun had followed us into the pizzeria and was still beating on us, but as our nostrils were engulfed with the smell of pizza being made, we forgot all about the heat. The walls of the pizzeria were made of dark red brick and the floor is a grey cement, but all the dark colors never once gave a gloomy feeling to the place.  In fact, whenever a customer goes to the pizzeria it is said to give off a club feeling and the colors definitely help to capture that idea. The only thing that can be located from anywhere in the pizzeria, no matter how dark it is, is the bright green bathroom door. The pizzeria does an excellent job at making the customers feel accepted. On  the wall next to the bathroom reads a bubble letter, pink and green sign that says "Welcome to Tri Pi Pizzeria (Image 1)."  Tri Pi Pizzeria is a spacious place when eating during the day, however that is a different story when it comes to the night.  On every college students friday night agenda before going home is going to Tri Pi.  From the loud music, to great pizza, and just a great place to social there is not a minute spent there that would want to be spent anywhere else.

On this specific day we went to the pizzeria for a quick slice of pizza before heading back to our homework awaiting us in Elwell 510. When we arrived the pizzeria was pretty empty. That quickly changed as the night went on. Ranging from families to teens and everyone in between the pizzeria was soon filled.  With four tables to chose from we picked the one closest to the sight and smell of the delicious pizza, that would soon be in our mouths (Image 2).  Around us on all seven televisions that are spread out across the room, we could hear ESPN news playing.  They were talking about possible match ups for the Super Bowl, which is still so far away. While there we got the opportunity to speak with one of the employees.  His name is Mark.  Mark a handsome young boy, is tall, skinny, and dressed in all black from head to toe.  This seemed to be the uniform for everyone that worked there.  His blonde hair is pulled back by a Philadelphia Flyers hat.  And his blue eyes were very noticeably as I talked to him about the pizzeria and life as a Bloomsburg University student.  After ordering two plain pieces, my roommate Katie and I continued talking to Mark about Tri Pi Pizzeria.  The first thing we had to ask about was the famous pretzellinis.  We had always heard our friends talk about how good they were and we really needed to know why.  He explained that a pretzellini was a pretzel bun with cheese and any topping you want.  " We even have jellybeans today," Mark exclaimed.  After hearing that I did not know what to think but I decided I would wait until next time to try a pretzellini.  I continued to ask Mark about his job and what his favorite part about working there was.  He responded by saying, "I do not have a favorite part, I love working here but at the end of the day work is work."  The questioning did not just end there.  After being at Bloomsburg University for only a few days some friends and I went to get pizza around midnight before heading back to our dorms.  It was definitely something I was not expecting but the atmosphere was very lively and made it seem like the night was never going to end. The pizzeria clearly comes alive at night.  All the tables are moved out of the center, the music is blasting, and everyone there is having a good time.  Due to this experience I had to ask Mark how he dealt with that environment because I even got stressed and I was only a customer.  He told us how he got lucky because he did not have to deal with the crowds at night.  His job was to deliver the pizzas so he always had the chance to get away from the chaos. After having a nice chat with Mark our pizza arrived and it was definitely better than any meal that was being served in the commons.
Sitting there in the pizzeria, Katie and I talked about how this would become part of the memories we made while at Bloomsburg University because there was no doubt we would be back.  After observing the pizzeria I could see why everyone said it was there favorite place for pizza.  The energetic yet very friendly employees, always seeing a familiar face while eating there, and always knowing that no matter what time of the day you go, the pizzeria will always be filled with good laughs and memories to go along with that.
While we sat there and enjoyed bite after bite, the once spacious pizzeria soon became very busy.  Sitting to the right of us was a family who looked like any ordinary family out for a night of pizza. Behind us sitting at the counter were a few college kids who were just hanging around deciding what to order and they soon came to the conclusion of buffalo chicken pizza. Although the pizzeria attracts many different kinds of people we all have one thing in common, our love for Tri Pi pizza (Image 3).

Finally, Mark came back to see how everything was going and asked if we were paying.  I could not miss the opportunity to make a joke about the pizza being free, which of course it was not.  As we paid we had a smile on our face and full stomachs to bring back to Elwell 510.  Although we walked out the same way we walked in, hot and sweaty, we were still smiling from ear to ear because we had just ate the greatest pizza in town!
